Face This stelt zich ten doel de school Duduk Atas nieuw leven in te blazen. Volg hier het verloop van de ontwikkleing van dit project.
The Indonesian school Duduk Atas is the first school where Face This is working with. The 6 and 7 year old pupils have created wonderful drawings which Face This processed into its T-shirts. In total there are three different collections launched. The profits thus generated, will be used for an additional school building to let the school be able to continue to give the growing number of pupils proper education. In addition Face This wants to provide good teaching materials.
Facts & figures
- Duduk Atas is located on the Indonesian island of Lombok in a hilly area adjacent to Senggigi;
- Because there are no paved roads leading into the village, you can only go there by foot;
- The village has no electricity and running water;
- The school was established in 2002 to approximately 36 children. When Face This visited the school in 2008 the school teached already 150 children;
- These children all live in the hilly area and have some 5 km (=3 hours ) to walk to come to school;
Objectives
Face This is in agreement with the teachers, the village head and the students agreed that the yields of the three T-shirt collections will be funding the following:
- A new school building for the growing number of pupils;
- A renovation of the existing school building;
- Good teaching materials
